Read this if you feel lost. It is a long post, but it is important so this one is free. We dive into a technique based on CBT that I have used and continuously use to control my mind absolutely.
I saw you tweet you’ve studied the mindsets and performances of the greats. Do you have a list of examples of core beliefs, self concepts and/or the internal dialogue of a man that wants to be a winner, powerful, strong and completely dominate in all aspects of life, just to get the ball rolling?
Good question, i'll have to give a deeper analysis but common trends are those that are based on being autotelic, extremely curious, insatiable drive for learning, belief that they are hard working, belief that they do not require as much rest than others and can succeed with less and ultimately that there isn't anything that anybody has achieved that they can not achieve themselves
admittedly there are darker aspects too... but those are the positive ones
Will definitely apply this, would also love to hear the deeper analysis sometime, I’m sure you have a lot of good insight into it. Thanks for the reply.
Thank you, this is great work. I was always interested in the concept of self-brainwashing, and applied it on some, though limited, level. This is quite a step-up, truly appreciated.
My 2nd or 3rd time revisiting this post. I've come to a realization that I need it now more than ever. I just finished my masters degree, moved to a beautiful new city by myself where I don't know many people, and have some degree of material success. Yet.. I still feel lost at times which is why I'm reading this at 1:22 am lol. I have every reason to be happy (and I'm not unhappy) but it just seems as though I haven't found my true purpose yet. I want to achieve much in this life and feel like I have so much pent up talent and drive within but don't know how to properly express it. Seriously looking into being disciplined with CBT here in the coming months. Thank you for a great post, Selena. Finding you on Twitter was one of my better discoveries in the trenches of the internet.
Essentially, do what you did in #2 by providing evidence for the core beliefs you want to change, but instead collect evidence of your new core belief from the things you're doing to reinforce it on a daily basis?
Selena, what would the mindet/belief of a comedian and creative content creator be do you think? I am doing both at the moment, going well but doubts can set in? I struggle with consistency at times, thank you

Fantastic, took copious notes, and about to implement.
Surprisingly, one of the most vicious core beliefs that I want to implement is the idea that I'm super healthy, and yet I sit here, with a delicious cup of poisonous soda, completely disgusted at the sight (or maybe rather more embarrassed a the cognitive dissonance displayed.
But I’m puzzled. I’m working on reconstructing my belief of worth, self worth, in which it is currently conditional to an external thing that sways it in any direction (having or not having money, having or not having frequent social interactions etc)
My goal is to create a solidity in my belief in which my worth is unconditional and therefore not susceptible to an external variable that will always oscillate.
I’m trying to give this ideal inherent self worth belief some proof, evidence, what can I do to back this up type things without those thing being external things that change based on uncontrollable situations.
All I’ve come up with is I’m alive. I’m breathing.
But something in me, maybe the hardened belief that that isn’t enough to be worthy, is telling me that’s not enough. Lol no conclusion here just 💭
Sorry to chime in but maybe you should question why you are determining your worth through other people's eyes. Maybe focus on the congruence of your psyche and your actions. Ex. I am a desciplined person. I said I'm going to do this and I did it = self worth cause I stuck to MY word. Variables that you can control. Just a thought
Extremely based. Look forward to seeing more in the future!
thank you!

Do you suggest changing one core belief at a time?
Or try to shoot all demons down at once?
hi, good question
i did 2 at once because those were the ones i really needed to address
i'd say start off with 1-2 maximum because it is very difficult to change all of them at the same time
thanks for the nudge. I've read about all this stuff before. But not til reading this article did I have a clear idea what I need to focus on.
"Don't feel sorry for yourself"
Have been using this phrase to catch myself in the act and redirect my heart each time. For about a week since reading this article
love this

This is really good.
I’m going to experiment with this a bit for a couple things I’m working on.
Thanks.
4. Provide evidence for these thoughts

Good read. Can I have your X handle
